Trident Club: Connecting the Caribbean and Its Diaspora

A group of three men collaborate at a wooden table in a modern, open-plan office. Laptops and soda cans are scattered around. The atmosphere is focused and collaborative.

What Trident Club Is About

Trident Club is One Matter’s connection, learning, and community-engagement program. It brings together people across the Caribbean and its diaspora to exchange ideas, share expertise, strengthen relationships, and explore ways to support community progress.

The program is built around the belief that the Caribbean’s global community holds valuable knowledge, experience, resources, and relationships that can be more intentionally connected.

Through virtual and in-person conversations, learning sessions, cultural experiences, and community-focused events, Trident Club creates space for meaningful connection that can lead to collaboration and action.

Connection

Trident Club creates welcoming opportunities for people with Caribbean ties, interests, and shared values to build genuine relationships across countries, professions, and generations.

Knowledge Exchange

Participants can share practical experience, professional insight, cultural knowledge, and lessons that may benefit individuals, organizations, and communities.

Community Action

The program helps turn conversations and relationships into support for One Matter initiatives, local organizations, volunteer opportunities, and other community-led efforts.

The Challenges We Respond To

The Caribbean diaspora is broad, accomplished, and deeply connected to the region, but its knowledge, resources, and relationships are often fragmented.

People may want to contribute, mentor, collaborate, or reconnect but lack a trusted and structured way to do so.

Trident Club responds to challenges such as:

  • Limited opportunities for meaningful connection across Caribbean communities and the diaspora.
  • Professional and community knowledge remaining isolated within individual networks.
  • Diaspora members wanting to contribute but not knowing where their time or expertise would be most useful.
  • A lack of accessible forums for intergenerational learning and cultural exchange.
  • Community conversations that do not consistently lead to practical collaboration.
  • Limited visibility into trusted Caribbean initiatives and organizations.
  • Geographic distance making sustained engagement more difficult.
  • Networking spaces that focus on transactions rather than shared purpose.

What We’re Doing About It

Trident Club is developing a flexible platform for connection, learning, and community participation.

The program works to:

  1. Host virtual and in-person conversations around issues relevant to Caribbean communities and the diaspora.
  2. Create opportunities for professionals, entrepreneurs, educators, creatives, students, and community leaders to exchange knowledge.
  3. Facilitate discussions led by volunteers and subject-matter experts.
  4. Highlight Caribbean experiences, ideas, organizations, and community-led solutions.
  5. Connect participants with volunteer, mentorship, partnership, and initiative-support opportunities.
  6. Encourage intergenerational learning and stronger connections between established professionals and emerging leaders.
  7. Create social and cultural experiences that strengthen community relationships.
  8. Use events and conversations to support One Matter programs and trusted community initiatives.
  9. Track participation, volunteer engagement, collaborations formed, and community opportunities supported.

Who’s Involved

Trident Club is coordinated by One Matter and shaped by participants from across the Caribbean and its diaspora.

The program may involve community leaders, professionals, entrepreneurs, educators, creatives, students, volunteers, subject-matter experts, partner organizations, and supporters who want to share knowledge and contribute to meaningful work.

Facilitators and guest contributors may lead conversations, workshops, networking sessions, cultural discussions, and focused learning experiences.

Participation in Trident Club does not create legal membership, voting rights, or governance authority within One Matter unless separately approved and documented by the organization.

Bring Your Experience Into the Conversation
